Deep6 Productions has seen many different incarnations, each stage an evolution in concept and execution.

Concieved to address the lack of attention industrial/goth/experimental music was getting from traditional venues and "scene" nightclub events, Deep6's first foray into the world of promotions was Das Ich and In Strict Confidence at the now defunkt Phantasmagoria Records in Wheaton, MD. That show was an informal partnership between Dana, Sue, and Naima, and marked the first introductions between Dana and Rick.

Brought together by longtime BOUND promoter Todd Pierce, Dana and Rick got better acquainted, and in 1999 the 3 of them decided to start a weekly event under the deep6 moniker. For about a year, the trio put onstage a series of under-appreciated artists, among them Inertia, Noisex and Hypnoskull, Delein, Boole, Rhea's Obsession, and Assemblage 23.

In 2000, the weekly event came to an end. Dana and Rick continued with Deep6 for a while, booking artists for events such as Bound, and the newly opened Alchemy, which Dana was also a partner in. As Alchemy grew, Deep6 was eventually sidelined, as Alchemy was fulfilling much of the void that Deep6 was conceived to address...providing a venue for talented artists of any genre falling under the "alternative/goth/industrial" umbrella. All good things must come to an end however, and with the demise of Nation and Alchemy, Deep6 has once again emerged to provide an option for fans of dark inspired music to enjoy live performances by current, relavant artists.

Evolving once more, Rick and Dana have officially welcomed co-promoters Sue Ovipositor, Michelle MisS Guided, and George Purevil. Together, they form a promotional powerhouse, like Voltron, only with flyers.

This year promises to bring many fantastic artists to the area, and a few fun special events to mix things up a bit, we'll be sure to help keep DC on the map!
